Welcome to Brick Street Farms!

Come and tour our farm where we grow 68 acres of greens, located on just 1/3 of an acre lot in downtown St. Petersburg, FL. As you step onto our farm, you'll be immersed in a world where agriculture meets hydroponic technology.

Your tour will be guided by Shannon O’Malley, our passionate owner, who will take you on a journey through our lush leafy greens and varieties of micro greens that thrive in this vertical oasis.

Farm Tour Description

The tour begins with an introduction to the concept of vertical farming and its impact on sustainable agriculture. You'll learn how we've maximized space by stacking layers of crops inside shipping containers, utilizing innovative hydroponic systems, and optimizing LED lighting to simulate ideal growing conditions regardless of the external environment.

Stroll through rows of vibrant leafy greens and striking micro green varieties, all thriving in this controlled indoor environment. Shannon will share insights into the careful monitoring of plant growth, from seedling to harvest, and the precise balance of nutrients and water conservation technologies for sustainable farming.

As you stroll through the different farm containers, you'll witness the intricacies of our automated systems and begin to understand the complexity of indoor growing to optimize plant health and growth. Shannon will explain how technology plays a pivotal role in maintaining sustainability by minimizing water usage, reducing carbon footprint, and offering a glimpse into the future of farming.

Feel free to engage in discussions about the challenges and triumphs of operating a vertical farm, the impact on local communities, and the potential this innovative approach holds for global food security.

Before the tour concludes, you'll have the chance to harvest for yourself and taste some of the freshest produce straight from the farm. It's an experience that not only educates but also excites your taste buds, leaving you with a newfound appreciation for the possibilities of modern agriculture. Come join us on this enlightening journey through our vertical shipping container farm, where innovation, sustainability, and delicious flavors converge!
